The Chiesi Group,
together with its Curosurf Partner Nycomed, is
supporting the Lama Gangchen Kiurok Tsochun "Help in
Action” Organization participating to one of their
humanitarian projects to the Himalayan people.
A few information regarding "Help
in Action” Organization:
- A voluntary Organization founded in
1990 by the Lama Gangchen, Lama and Tibetan doctor who has been
living in the Western countries for 15 years and has been working
to create a positive cooperation between East and West, both from
a cultural and a humanitarian point of view.
- Its aims are long distance adoptions
and humanitarian projects for the Himalayan people in Tibet, Nepal
and India.
It is part of the Lama Gangchen World Peace Foundation, an ONG
affiliate to the UN
- Chiesi’s Headquarter is currently
helping the Organization also with some long distance adoptions
(young monks and children).

General information
Nepu
is a village located about 150 kms west of Shigatse, in Central
Tibet.
Nepu is part of three villages
very close to each other: Nepu, Sarpel e Shishung, with a total
population of 700-800 people, of whom about 300 are children.
The Project
To improve life condition of the
community of Nepu. The project will be realised with the cooperation
of the Representatives of the Local Government of Dakshu Shan.
The essential steps will be:
- WATER
- Building of a watering system and
fountains to give the inhabitants running waterm
- SCHOOL
- Building of a small school to be
realized in stone to grant a longer lifetime and resistance
to the extreme climate conditions. Equipped with desks, seats,
board, school material and external hygienic facilities.
- Realization of a basic sanitary education
in favour of children, through information and teachers training.
- HEALTH
- Building of a small dispensary to
have the essential medical remedies and to educate adults
and children to hygiene.
- Training of one/two nurses and one
obstetrician and presence of a Tibetan doctor.
- TREES AND AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT
- Plant of several hundred trees and
fruit trees all around the village to provide shelter and
protection from wind, sun , earth erosion, and to produce
wood and fresh fruits thus improving nutrition, currently
very poor in vitamines.
- Develope a small agriculture project
to produce vegetables.
It will be a 3-year support and
this year’s fund will cover the cost for building the school.
Lama Help in Action’s volunteers
travel to Tibet every Summer to bring funds directly and personally
to the local authorities/communities. Therefore, the project to
build the school would start this Autumn.
Furthermore , always this year,
the Chiesi Group will independently support the Nepu Village Project
by contributing to the purchase and plantation of some hundreds
trees.
